WHAT WILL I BE DOING IN THE ALL SAINTS FAIR BOOTH?
When in the fair booth, you will talk with people who pass by the booth asking if they would like a rosary, crucifix, miraculous medal, etc. We freely give out items so people may have more than one thing. Also, we try to give out a holy card or pamphlet with the rosaries, crucifixes, and medals. For instance, if you give out a rosary - you will send along a small pamphlet on how to pray the rosary. There will likely be a priest or deacon in one of our booths, so if someone wants something blessed, just send them next door. If the fair isn't busy, would you consider putting medals and crucifixes on chains?
WHAT IF SOMEONE ASKS ME A QUESTION OR WANTS INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHURCH?
If someone asks a question, feel free to answer if you feel comfortable. You can also direct them to the priest or deacon in the next booth. If there is not a member of the clergy next door, please point them to our free Catholic library one booth down. There are many, many resources available about the Church and church teaching.
HOW DO I GET A TICKET TO GET INTO THE FAIR?
You will pick up a ticket in the driveway of a brick home located just before Gate 3 on 4th Avenue N.E. The mailbox is close to the road and you can see it from the street. The mailbox has an 88.1 fm (catholic radio) sticker and the words All Saints Church on it. Drive into the driveway and inside the mailbox is a ticket - please check the back for the words "All Saints booth" because other organizations use the same mailbox. Once at the fair booth, please place your ticket into the container labeled "return fair passes here" bucket. (See map below)
WHICH ENTRANCE DO I USE AND WHERE DO I PARK?
You will enter the fair at Gate 3. Drive up that driveway and show your pass to the ticket takers. Take a right and continue straight where you will park in the roped-off area called the commercial parking or exhibitor parking area. This area is to the left of the carnival trailers. There may be fair workers who direct you to park somewhere else but show them your exhibitor pass and point to the commercial parking area. It gets busy at night so consider coming early. Sometimes they close Gate 3, however, if you have an exhibitor pass, they are supposed to let you in to park there so please let them know you have that pass. (See map below)
WHERE IS THE ALL SAINTS FAIR BOOTH LOCATED AT THE PLYMOUTH COUNTY FAIR?
The All Saints booth is located in the commercial building. This building is the fourth building to the west of the carnival rides and the main entrance is right across from the girl scout booth. We are on the west side of the building and you can't miss us as we have a big cut-out of Pope Francis in front of the booth. (See map below)
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR OR BRING?
If the weather is warm outside, it is even hotter in the commercial building so wear clothes that will keep you cool and are appropriate for representing our Church. We do have fans and water available, but if you need something such as Gatorade, please bring your own. You will be sitting for most of your time in the booth.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?
All Saints church actually has three booths at the fair so you will see a clergy booth right next to you and a free Catholic library booth close by. Please encourage fairgoers to talk with the clergy in the booth next door and to browse the library. There will be a prayer box (actually a prayer cross) on the table in front of the library, so let fairgoers know they can write down their prayer requests on papers next to the prayer box, and then they put their prayers into the cross. Share with them that members of our church will pray over their requests and their prayers will also be sent to the Carmelite Sisters in Sioux City who will pray for them as well.
